The grounds of Summerseat have inspired several of America’s leaders throughout history. In fact, George Washington himself wrote at least 20 letters from Summerseat, our historic stone mansion in Morrisville PA. Around this time, Washington used the estate as his military headquarters from December 8 to December 14, 1776, after retreating across the Delaware River from New York and New Jersey.
Summerseat continues to inspire people from near and far, independent artists, researchers, local historians, product designers and even distillers alike today. Local distillery owner, Chris Cacace of Ashlynn Distillery founded Summerseat Vodka in 2022 – Summerseat as a namesake being perfectly fitting for a brand deeply rooted in local and national history. The brand even features American resources also traditional to the revolutionary era.
