Stories are told in a humorous vein, yet often combined with sadness. Protected by the love of a family, the pride and traditions of a community, the support of friends and neighbors, and the courage of our Nation’s Greatest Generation, this is a story about a boyhood that could have happened only once…Once Upon My Time.”
Andrew R. Thompson, Jr. was raised in Morrisville, a small town in southeastern Pennsylvania. Although he’s moved several times in and out of Morrisville (albeit not far), family friends, and Morrisville’s own uncanny ability to impart a sense of belonging, draws him back to the town on an almost daily basis.

The Historic Morrisville Society was established in 1976 to preserve and restore the National Historic Landmark, Summerseat. HMS offers educational opportunities to promote and preserve our American History and highlights the significant role Morrisville has played throughout the years.
Summerseat is an 18th-century Georgian manor house that was saved from dereliction and decay twice in the 20th century by the citizens of Morrisville. It serves as a repository and museum. It was headquarters of General George Washington in December 1776 and was once home to Adam Hoops, Thomas Barclay, Robert Morris, and George Clymer.
Tours are available for $7.00 per person. Special events, Colonial Festivals, and lectures are held every year.
